Kankuro didn't know why he had gone back to the hospitol. I guess it was to see if there was anything there left of Gaara...or perhaps it was his nurse friend
. Reguardless there was nothing there worth seeing. So he left it behind. It wouldn't be long before he'd be traveling back to Suna with his parents. His entire family game to Konaha no more than about a month ago, now only half of his family was returning home.
Naruto walked towards the hospital shuffling his feet. He hoped Sakura would be around, but if not he had a few questions for Kuroko's doctor anyway.
Exiting the doors, Kankuro caught glance of a familiar blonde headed figure. Fancy he hadn't seen Naruto his entire time he was in the village. Guess people like him even have it busy.
Naruto paused, feeling that he was being watched. Looking up, he saw Kankuro and smiled. "Hey, Kankuro, long time no see!"
Kankuro kept his hands his pockets. Quite surprised Kankuro recognized him with his usually facial paint. He just didn't seem to have the energy to put it on as of late. "Yo."
Naruto walked closer, his eyes narrowing. "What's wrong?"
"Wrong? Where do I start." He rubbed his head and gave a heavy sigh. "Lucky you caught me. I'm about to head home."
"Oh really? What are you doing in Konoha anyway?" Naruto found a wall to lean against
"My siblings and I had a mission here," he replied.
Naruto brightened up. "Your siblings? Where's Gaara? I have such things to tell him!"
"Gaara's not here," Kankuro replied again with quite a bit of resentment in his voice. His hands clenching some in his pockets.
"Huh? What are you talking about?" Naruto's eyebrows furrowed in confusion
"It's like I said. Gaara's not here. Neither is Temari."
Naruto punched the wall. "There where are they?"
"Gaara's in Oto. Tem went after him."
"Gaara left to go to Otogakure. Temari went after him, along with our uncle. I was going as well, but Temari knocked me out." Kankuro rubbed the back of his neck. "When I woke up, my father prevented me from going. Using the usual guilt trip method on me."
Naruto looked shocked, his heart beating hard. "Well, why did he go?"
Kankuro turned his eyes and glared at Naruto. "Why do you think?"
Naruto shrugged. "I don't know, that's why I'm asking.
"You are dense are you? I suppose you can't help your hair color." Kankuto let out a sigh. "He went because Orochimaru wanted him to go."
Naruto growled low in his throat. "No, Gaara is smarter than that...Isn't he?"
"Apparently not," Kankuro stated. "That's where he's at, and I can't do anything about it...." His voice trailed off.
Naruto looked serious. "Bull shit, get your stuff. I'm goign to get him back."
"I've got to take care of my Mom," Kankuro replied. "Then my ol' man is feeding me shit with Gaara gone and Temari in a forgien relationship, he wants me to start training to be his heir to Kazekage." My family is so fucking screwwed up.
Naruto sighed softly. "Fine, then I'll do it myself."
"By yourself? You think the Hokage is just going to let that happen? Don't be suicidal. This is Orochimaru we're talking about, remember? Didn't you already go through this before? You should know it's not as easy as chasing after someone and bringing them back."
Naruto openly pouted. "I"m stronger now, and this is for Gaara."
"You best check with your Hokage first. You never know, she might already be preparing a team to go after him, and if nothing comes up. . . . " Kankuro let his voice trail for a moment. Then he grabbed Naruto and tugged him closer so he could speak softer without anyone over hearing.". . get to Suna."
Naruto nodded. "Yeah, I'll go talk to Tsunade-baba, but no matter what, we will meet again."
"Yea, this thing is for from over, rest assure that.. . . " Kankuro let go of the younger man and took a step back. "And uh...if a nurse name Junko is looking for me....you didn't see me, alright?"
Naruto nodded, smirking. "Of course, do I know you?
"No. I've never seen you before in my life. What, are you touching me? Help! Someone rape!"
Naruto laughed and moved away from Kankuro just in case
On that note, the parted ways. Kankuro's mind still clouded with thought and worries someone at his age should've be worried about.
